Day 1 / arrival in Lyon

 Arrival in Lyon by TGV and pick up at the station.

Lunch at Le Garet

Day 2 /

Road to the Northern Rhône Valley (1 hour). 

Visit and tasting at Domaine Georges Vernay (Condrieu appelation). 

Visit and tasting at Domaine Clusel-Roch (Côte Rôtie appellation). 

Lunch at Jaboulet in Tain l’Hermitage

Visit and tasting at Domaine Combier (Crozes-Hermitage appellation). Road back to Lyon (1h15)

Fourvières : The Basilica and the Roman theater and ruins

Dinner at « Restaurant Prairial ».

Day 3 

Visit and tasting Chateau Thivin (Odénas/Brouilly)

Lunch-tbd

Visit and tasting at Jean Foillard(Morgon).

Visit and tasting at Marcel Lapierre(Morgon).

Overnite and dinner at Chateau de Besseuil

Day 4 

 

Guided visit of L'ABBAYE DE CLUNY 

Founded in 910 it was the head of a network of nearly 1,400 dependencies and over 10,000 monks (Bendectines at Cluny) and by the end fo the 11th century was the largest church in Christendom.

 

The magificent tasting rooms of Chateau de Chamiery near Mercurey and the wines of A & A Devillard that also include 
Domaine des Perdrix in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Domaine de la Ferté in Givry and Domaine de la Garenne in Macon/Azé.

Day 5

Clos Vougeot

Guided tour of the former monastery Chateau du Clos de Vougeout, since 1934,home of  the Confrérie des Chevaliers du Tastevin. They have tasked themselves to promote Burgundy, notably its wines and cuisine, preserving and reviving its traditional festivals, folklore and customs, and encouraging the development of tourism in the region.

An active participant in important events that take place in the region, the Conférie was instrumental in establishing the Saint-Vincent Tournante, the Tastevinage and in the restoration of the Château du Clos de Vougeot.

 

DOMAINE PROSPER MAUFOUX  

Founded in 1860, its headquarters are on the main square in a mansion that houses two floors of cellars, the oldest of which dates from the 15th century.

Tasting and machon (lunch of cheese and charcuterie) and more wine with owner Pascale Rifaux.


 

 

CHATEAU DE LA CREE  

 

Ken and Grace Evenstad, Founders and Owners of Domaine Serene Winery, came full circle in their passion for great Pinot Noir and Chardonnay when they purchased the respected Burgundy wine estate, Château de la Crée, in April 2015.

“Owning and farming legendary vineyards in Burgundy is a dream come true for us,” says Ken Evenstad. “We have a once in a lifetime opportunity to make our own wines from famous vineyards like Morgeot in Chassagne-Montrachet, Clos des Angles in Volnay, and La Garenne in Puligny-Montrachet where world class wines have been made for centuries.”

Day 6

Tour of Hospice des Beaune

Day 7 

Gaugry Fromage

Guided tour with a full description of the production of  cheeses. This visit is followed by a tasting of 5 Gaugry cheese varieties, from the mildest to the strongest in flavour. This tasting is accompanied by a glass of Burgundy wine and bread

 

Cassisium

A guided tour through the factory to learn more about the history of the liqueur company “Védrenne” famous for their Crème de cassis followed by a tasting of classic Kir, Kir péche and innovative cocktails. 

 

Lunch at La Toute Petite Auberge

A cantine for local winemakers 

And before heading to Dijon for our train to Paris, Philippe Charlopin will select from 33 Grand Crus and serve us directly from the barrel.
