Just 20 minutes by RER from Paris, a visit to the park, museum, temporary exhibit and a pause for lunch at the restaurant or sandwich on a park bench is a lovely, 19th century way to spend a day
JONE 9ails beThe Caillebotte property is located in the geographical center of the municipality of Yerres. Typical of the nineteenth century, it was built in the 1830s, in the style "English", with an irregular layout. It is now open to the public and is as much a place of rest as an invitation to discover a rich historical heritage: the famous ornamental factories that dot its beautiful pleasure park and have almost all been restored. The visitor can satisfy his curiosity by following in the the footsteps of Gustave Caillebotte himself, since it is here, in the family resort, that the painter planted his easel in the open air, painting nearly 90 paintings in the summers of the 1870s.

Built vat the end of the 15th century, it rests on a basement stone, and vaulted cellars. The Palladian-style colonnade gives it its character as an "Italian-style house". The presence of such architecture follows the principles of composition of gardens "à l'anglaise", inspired by the gardens of Italy.
And if you prefer to tour the grounds unconventionally you can rent a perisssoire and navigate the Yerres.
