on March 24 2018 you will soar to John Baxter's 6th floor apartment on the wings of the recently installed elevator, where we will feast on fromage, charcuterie and wine, amid his collection of first editions, including THE GREAT GATSBY

 

Were it March 24 1925 the elevator at #18 rue de L'Odeon would not have been installed and you would have trod the same threadbare carpet that received the footsteps of Hemingway and Joyce as they made their way to the apartment of Sylvia Beach and Adrienne Monnier for a signature chicken dinner and most likely exited in a drunken stupor.
 
But on March 24 2018 you will soar to John Baxter's 6th floor apartment on the wings of the recently installed elevator, where we will feast on fromage, charcuterie and wine, amid his collection of first editions, including THE GREAT GATSBY
and the more than 40 books that he has written beginning with science-fiction, continuing with cinema biographies, book collecting and finally as a chronicler of 20th century Paris.
