Sundays with Terrance –11AM-12:30PM

What a lovely start to a Sunday, to have a drink with Terrance and friends  at Le Sélect.  If you haven’t decided whether to book one of Terrance’s tours or assistance in advance of your trip, this may well be the moment to make up your mind- so make sure it’s your first Sunday in town.

What a lovely start to a Sunday, to have a drink with Terrance and friends  at Le Sélect  If you haven’t decided whether to book one of Terrance’s tours or assistance in advance of your trip, this may well be the moment to make up your mind- so make sure it’s your first Sunday in town.

1) So what’s the difference between hooking up with Terrance and company and going solo (or with just your travel companion) for your Sunday morning drink?

2) Shouldn’t you be wary of being one of a crowd of Anglophones in such a French institution?

Well the difference is between having a pleasant drink (approx 6-7 euros) in lovely surroundings or the former plus enjoying the nice warm feeling of belonging that comes with being with someone that is a well-liked and established client, on a kissing basis with most of the (lady) regulars. Madame Chapeau,Terrance’s long standing café friend and who is featured on page 13 of ‘From Bagels to Brioches’ is a delightful companion with all of the advantages of the elegant quintessential Parisian lady but with added warmth and a natural gift of making people around her feel good. Terrance twinkling with life can keep any number of interesting intelligent conversations going simultaneously, making sure no one is left out. Madame Chapeau whom I was seated next to turned out to be an excellent physiologist, unless Lady Gaga or Madonna were to make an appearance in full attire I’m prone to miss the rich and famous so I was quite happy to have the handsome actor Vincent Cassel and the writer Douglas Kennedy (the film version of his book ‘The woman in the Fifth’ is now showing in Paris) discreetly pointed out.

Terrance and ‘his friends’ are considered the variety of Anglophones that add international sparkle rather than being an annoying chauvinistic bunch – perhaps because Terrance speaks French and is so obviously in love with Paris.
