Le Grill Astier

Just a few steps from, the mother ship Astier, Frederic Hubig, the Earl of the Eleventh, has opened Le Grill Astier.

This is one of those reviews that is easy to write-no fluff necessary.

The steak lovers delight! Choice beef from Ireland or Bavaria. Your server will present it for inspection before sending it to the kitchen to be grilled to order. My partner on this gray autumn afternoon was Bob Glaser from Chicago, who started eating beef in the womb, like any good Chicagoan.

Our cote de boeuf came to us as ordered-one half medium rare and one half rare and oh so tender accompanied by crunchy french fries. A superb Crozes-Hermitage was the perfect companion.

Our waiter forced me to choose between the poached pear in spicy red wine (Poire pochée au vin rouge) and roasted apple crumble with chantilly (pomme rotie, crumble et chantilly maison.) I opted for la pomme and a Bas-Armagnac from Darozze to wash it down

A simple, perfect meal and as Bob said: I'll be back!

No one should have a bad meal in Paris! Whether a 2-star restaurant or a local bistro there should always be an excellent rapport qualité prix– relationship between price and quality. At my favorites you will be treated as a regular and have a satisfying experience. Just tell them  “Terrance sent you.”
