I was walking along the Rue de Buci, minding my business, as the song goes, when on my left appeared a replacement for the traiteur that had been there as long as I've been in Paris.
Three charming young serveuses and one striking hostess approached with an abundance of charm.

I thanked them for the warm welcome and walked back to the kitchen where young Luigi di Giovanni di Napoli was shaping fresh pasta. After a quick chat I decided to have a classic tomato-mozzarella salad.
But, Giovanni having trained with Ducasse in Florence, and cooked at Atelier de Joel Robuchon, for six years created the gorgeous mille-feuille pictured above. The freshest mozzarella from Naples, sweet heirloom tomatoes and the tiniest trace of cumin exploded on my palate.

My appetite aroused two days later M and I decided to give Luigi the dinner test. It was alovely evening so we chose to sit under the stars beginning with a Cynar and a prosecco on the Via Veneto aka rue de Buci and then in the atria dining room.
For starters Carpaccio di Carciofi-artichokes, Parma ham and generous shavings of parmesano.

And on to serious dining-Agnello Farcito Piselli e Guanciale, lamb stuffed with mozzarella, bacon and baby peas. And for madam a gorgeous presentation of three different tunas, caramelized onions and horseradish.
We selected a Primitivo, a robust red from Puglia that our neighbor Enzo di Calabria, overhearing my Brooklyn accented Neapolitan dialect infomed us was blended with inferior wines o make them palatable.
Desser was light and simple-panna cottta with raspberries, and a smooth grappa.

I still had not tasted the pizza from the wood burning oven so accompanied by four of my Sunday at Le Select regulars we agreed-perfeto!
I love this place-aperitif on the terazza, pre movie pizza or a full dinner-io sento sempre in casa.
