Gran Caffe Convivium

My lunch with Frank Costello
aka Bob Glaser
Just off the Champs Elysées Convivium on the rue Marbeuf radiates warmth and good feelings.

We are greeted with exuberant buona seras and are lead to our table by Gianni who doubles as the house photographer. When he pointed his lens at me I resisted the impulse to smash his camera a la Santino "Sonny" Corleone.

Angelo & Gianni
The staff and many of our neighboring diners were or at least spoke Italian. After delivering a few barbs in Italian I was joined by Angelo and Gianni in an abbreviated rendition of Male Femina.
I am in casa.
Bruschetti con mozzarella e gamberi were followed by vitello a la milanese con linguini pomodori  and a glass of Sicilian red.
Hearty italian expresso punctuated our afternoon in Sicilia.

The atmosphere and energy
are so positive that one could almost forget the food but the Veal Milanese tasted like a consistently well prepared dish that is  always good and brings back regulars.
A look around the dining room confirmed that suspicion.
Don Roberto tells me that the pizza is to die for-no Sicilian pun intended.

Bistros

No one should have a bad meal in Paris! Whether a 2-star restaurant or a local bistro there should always be an excellent rapport qualité prix– relationship between price and quality. At my favorites you will be treated as a regular and have a satisfying experience. Just tell them  “Terrance sent you.”
